Part-Time Convenience Center Attendant
Hickman County Solid Waste is accepting applications for a part-time Convenience Center Attendant.
This employee will serve as a public representative of the Solid Waste Department at county convenience centers. The most important qualifications are a friendly personality, a positive attitude, dependability, and the ability to communicate well with residents.
The position primarily involves keeping assigned sites clean, orderly, and presentable while providing courteous customer service. The attendant shall assist elderly or disabled residents with unloading their stuff into dumpsters if the site has a container for it.
Primary Duties
- Greet residents in a friendly and professional manner.
- Represent the Solid Waste Department positively to the public.
- Keep assigned convenience centers clean, orderly, and free of litter.
- Sweep and clean around dumpsters, compactors, and traffic areas.
- Answer basic questions and politely explain disposal guidelines.
- Call in full containers, equipment problems, or unsafe conditions.
- Routinely assist elderly or disabled residents with disposing their waste.
- Help maintain safe and orderly traffic through the site.
- Perform light groundskeeping and general cleanup duties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Friendly, courteous, and helpful personality.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform light to moderate physical work.

This is a part-time position. Most working hours will involve maintaining convenience centers and interacting with the public.
